The comments of the last several days have been noted and an occasional sharing of
concerns, ideas and suggestions isn't all bad, even if a bit outside the intent of
the forum.

Having said that, I provide a quick review of "appropriate" for the TechNet. As
paraphrased from the policy (readable on our web site), the obvious blatant
advertisements aren't acceptable. When someone asks for a source where the normal
reply would be a companies name, address or other contact info, the guide suggests
replying to the original poster privately, not posting to the net.

What we see and hear from you is that MOST people are able to deal with this
occasional type of reply even when posted to the whole forum; it seems to be viewed
as a general knowledge gain. Because of this, we seldom have admonished anyone from
posting this kind of info. We don't want to inhibit the exchange of technical
inforamtion; it's only when a posting is unsolicited and not related to a query that
we step in.

With nearly 1600 subscribers, lots of "lurkers" as recently defined but also a great
cadre' of regular responders, it has to be expected that occasionally something isn't
what you want or expect. In such cases we suggest taking a deep breath, squeeze the
stress ball a time or two, and DELETE, DELETE, DELETE. With this, we'd like to
terminate discussion of this topic on the forum and move on to TECHNICAL issues.

Thanks to all for sharing your experience. Jack
