Russ:
I recently asked that question of our manufacturing engineers and received
this reply.
"SOP fine-pitch components (0.65mm, 0.0256 inch) with less than 58
pins do not require local fiducials. Our latest equipment can place within a
11 micron window."
Hope it helps,

Hello everyone,
I am trying to find out if anyone is still requiring local fidutials on fine
pitch patterns.
Does anyone REALLY use them?
They consume a lot of real estate. Todays placement machines do an
excellent job using only the global fidutials.
Your responses are greatly appreciated !
