MaryEllen how many people would we need to have in order to get IPC to
schedule a IPC Designers Council Workshop here in El Paso and are there any
dates available. What kind of costs would be involved. We are trying to get
a Designer Council Chapter set up here in El Paso and I have been working
with Gary Ferrari to this end.

> Dear Colleague,
>
> We believe printed wiring board (PWB) designers are the unsung heroes of
the
> electronics industry. IPC and the IPC Designers Council are working to
elevate the
> status of your profession. Together, we've developed the IPC PWB Designer
> Certification Program. This program delivers more than a good education.
 It
> provides recognition of a high level of knowledge and skill that will
serve you
> throughout your career.
>
> IPC has established a full-year calendar of PWB Designer Certification
workshops and
> examination dates. By signing up for a "Workshop Package," all the study
materials
> and a voucher for taking the test are now provided for one discounted
price and
> immediately sent to you. (Study materials can also be purchased
separately or in
> packages that include an exam voucher. There is no expiration date on the
voucher,
> and if you're not ready to take the examination after the workshop, you
may wait and
> take it at another location.) Testing always occurs on the third day of a
workshop.
>
> Anyone who previously received a Sylvan Prometric test voucher may use it
to take the
> certification test at any of the locations listed in the brochure for no
additional
> charge (even if the expiration date on the voucher has passed) by
contacting
> Alexandra Curtis at 847/509-9700, ext. 377. Please note: the examination
is no longer
> available through Sylvan Prometric.
>
> Details and registration information on all the 1998 workshop/test dates,
and an
> order form for study materials are all available from our web site at:
> or simply e-mail us a request to have the brochure faxed to you (include
your name,
> company and fax number!) and we'll be happy to do so.
>
