IMHO, use flat schematics. It takes more time to verify page to page
connectivity, but you know what your getting and it's easy to change or
fix. With hierarchicial schematic design, while it's easy to generate
the top level and move to the other levels, following the schematic flow
below the top level is more difficult, but when it's time to make
changes it requires at least twice the effort since everything flows
back to the top level. Having a correct netlist out ways the symbology
on the schematic.

BTW: I've used Orcad and ACCEL EDA in hierarchicial schematic design.
