Hi my name is Deb Beck and I am with EFL Associates, a retained executive
search firm.  We are assisting our client, located in the Western United
States, in selecting an OPERATIONS MANAGER.  Our client is a manufacturer
of high end, highly technical, multi-layer (36 plus) circuit boards and has
been in business for twenty years.

POSITION PROFILE - OPERATIONS MANAGER

CLIENT ORGANIZATION

Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturer of highly technical PCB's.
Made with Thermount, Ohmega Ply buried resistor technology, Composite,
Teflon "look-a-likes," BUM technology, controlled impedance, and other
advanced technologies, our client's products are used by leading companies
in the defense, telecommunications, and other high technology industries.
The company is located in the Western United States, and has been in
business for twenty years.  Revenue growth has averaged 25% per year for
the past several years, and is projected to continue at that rate for the
foreseeable future.  The company currently employs 56 people, about half of
whom are in the manufacturing side of the organization and report
indirectly to this position.  The company is currently constructing a new
facility that will double its present size and provide increased production
capacity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a newly created position, reporting directly to the President and
CEO.  The primary function of the Operations Manager will be to oversee
day-to-day operations of the company, with a focus on manufacturing
operations.  Direct reports to the Operations Manager include the heads of
production, process engineering, quality control, and facility maintenance.
 Specific duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:

· Managing production operations to meet delivery schedules at optimum
levels of productivity, quality and efficiency.  

· Coordinating day-to-day production issues, material allocation, and
equipment resources.

· Interfacing with customers regarding technical issues and specific
product performance characteristics.

· Implementing programs to enhance productivity, capacity, and
technological utilization.

· Leading continuous improvement and ISO planning efforts within the company.

· Directing specific project management teams.

· Overseeing problem resolution and failure analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

For consideration, individuals should possess at least ten years experience
in manufacturing technical PCB's, with significant experience related to
the previously described duties and responsibilities.  A blend of technical
and managerial experience is ideal.  An undergraduate degree in a related
engineering discipline is preferred.  The following personal
characteristics and skills profile are also sought.

· Comprehensive working knowledge of advanced PCB manufacturing processes
and technologies, especially uses for new materials.

· Demonstrated ability to meet production schedules on time, on budget,
with quality products.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to
interact effectively with company management, engineers, production
personnel, and customers.

· Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and documentation.

· Ability to work well as part of a team, and to foster team spirit in
subordinates, yet exhibit leadership and make tough decisions when necessary.

· High energy level; enthusiasm; strong work ethic.

· Good understanding of the financial side of operations.

COMPENSATION

Our client will provide a competitive compensation package designed to
motivate and reward a top performer.  The package will consist of an
attractive base salary, quarterly bonus based on company profitability, and
participation in the company's benefits programs.  Relocation assistance is
available.
