For RF assemblies, the circuit must routinely be tuned for performance. The
standard tuning procedure is to attach a tuning ribbon (either wire bond,
solder, etc.) to a signal trace with a part of the wire terminated to "chicken
dots", usually an array of small rectangular or square pads on either or both
sides of the trace. The purpose of the chicken dots is to provide a
termination point for the tuning wire so the ends aren't flapping in the
breeze. (Don't ask me any technical questions about how this works... this is
all black magic to me.)
I'd like to evaluate an alternative approach to using the chicken dots. I'd
like to just glue the tuning ribbon ends down directly to the substrate. Now,
my question. Can anyone recommend an adhesive which can adhere to Duroid
(Teflon) boards?
Thanks,
Jim Marsico
