Paul - I like your resourcefulness....but back up a second. Besides
possible multilayers, cracked ceramics, bent/broken mechanisms...what will
you have when you are done? If I bought a $1400 VCR I wouldn't want my
buddy doing an etch/epoxy/solder job on it. Buy your friend a new VCR (your
car insurance should cover it), and play with this broken bird for your own
fun. If you get it working, it'll make a great story. Joe
