Mathew,

    I've been using ASM500 from Artwork Conversion Software, Inc for a
number of years
and have had great success doing translations from Autocad-Gerber. Their
homepage is
www.artwork.com. I would not recomend doing pcb designs in Autocad
though, but that is just my opinion.
