Normally, if  the pin is designed for press fit into circuit card, the pin
manufacturer shall have tool and process in place . If you build 5000
boards a month and use what you described, I do not know how do you
meet you delivery schedule.
Loose pin and tape in reel pin use different tool.
Give me a call at 512-218-7777, I press a lot of pins and connectors
every day.
Call the manufacturer is you best bet.
