Mark,
We routinely wave solder high volumes of 0805, 0603 and SOIC
packages. We wave over 1.5 million SMT parts per day, mostly 0805's
(60%), typically at around 40 ppm. The only caution I would give for
0805's is to closely monitor the temperature delta between preheat and
solder contact, especially for capacitors. Thermal damage / cracking can
become a problem.

I know that it is possible to wave solder 1206 style resistors. What
about wave soldering a board with the following packages; SOIC and
0805
resistors and caps. Has anyone done this sucessfully? Thanks for any
input you can give.

Mark Ross
