Joe,

the respirators are obvious , also, check PACE , they have a reasonably
designed flexible arm attachable to their fume extractors , to push
wherever you desire .
The analysis of the safety of de-dross is a simple process of air flow
control over the area of the process ( you may need more than one air
intake ) .
Now , don't laugh , it's tried and tested :
Go and buy your favor incense stick , the thin ones ideal , and play a
guru with smoking sticks, with extractor on, over the maintenance area ,
prior to commencing of the work, to verify the airflow . How you get it
to the procedures is your business .

Or go to extreme like me ; buy a 5x (1500m3/h) overdesigned sucker with
variable valve ; using one (flow meter calibrated) setting for
production , other fully open working close to vacuum cleaner mode of
nearby couple of cubic yards , indicating total lead safety by your tie
in close to horizontal position .
All this in tandem with three stage filter ( pre, HEPA, carbon ) ;
prerequisite of this green game .
The hot air you can duct outside , because by than it's cleaner than
street air anyhow .
The better (Kemper - German) systems give you all sorts of rising fill
indicators , audible buzzer warnings , key nuclear missile style resets,
etc. etc. At a price ; forgot to mention .
Being in respiratory industry we really "lead" the show .

See you Joe
