GDT is a cheap way to design a functional part for part that fit
together. When done correctly all the available, functional tolerance,
is used, so you do not pay for precision that isn't needed to make the
part functional.

Since GDT is a standard, it would prevent confusion, and communicate
intent quickly. This is especially good for global companies, or
companies with a lot of offshore business.

However, if no one in the plant understands the standard, then where are
you at?

If IPC recommends GDT for PWB drawings, have they set up any seminar
activity on the subject?
