RB-276 is the old "Ridge Board" qualification and performace standard.

A-600 is a visual inspection standard that spells out how things should
look on the bare bord as it comes in your door and at the end of your
assembly process, before it goes out your door.

6012 is the new "Ridge Board" updated qualification and performace
standard. It spells out several tests that shall be performed for different
classes of boards to qualify them as Class 1,  2 or 3. These tests check
things that may or may not be visible to the eye but can impact the
reliability of the finished product.

You buy your board to IPC-6012, Class 3.  The 600
document is a pictorial document that supplements
the 6012 specification.
6012 has sampling plans and the required tests that
are to be performed on each lot (for class 3) - like thermal
stress as well as listing responsibilities for monthly tests.
If you called out only 600 there are no requirements for
testing - just the photos that show what your product should
look like if you did the testing.
IPC-6012, Class 3 correlates to the military specifications.
