Hey everyone,

I'm in the process of measuring the inputs to our PCB Layout process.  I have a
matrix that defines what the inputs are and how they correlate to key outputs.
For example the schematic is a key input process variable (KPIV) and the outputs
that are critical to quality (CTQ) for the layout process are that the design
meets thermal requirements, electrical requirements, UL requirements, etc.

The thing I need help with is the collection of the data.  I have ranked the
requirements and have established what is important at any given time in the
design process.  Now I need to establish an SPC system to collect data during
the design process.  Is anyone doing this and if so how are you doing it?  With
a form to be filled out at each check point?  Logging when the design is
accessed and what was changed?  Or is there some other way of collecting this
information.

I've never seen an SPC system for the PCB process.  If anyone has examples or
"best practices" that they could share with me I would like to talk.
