Overtime? What's that? (OK, I do get OT pay at this job.) When I was
running Mentor they put me on salary. Since then, at a different company,
I've run P-CAD, Accel, and PADS - soon to start with Veribest and Pantheon
(Mentor clone). When I got this job, I insisted on hourly pay with OT when
necessary, and they gave it to me - I'm the only hourly employee in the
company. No change in other benefits.

That being said, Mentor was definitely my favorite to run. Of course, I'm a
programmer at heart, and I had about 300 Ample scripts and C programs to
simplify my daily existence. Not to mention the Aegis shell scripts
(remember Aegis, from the old Apollo boxes?)

The overtime pays well though doesn't it ?   A lot of it depends on
the software you use, and the most frustrating part is most of the
time the PCB Designer does not get to choose their favorite software.


You aren't the only frustrated Mentor Graphics user, my opinion, or
should I say my pain ;).
