When I first started doing pcb layout in the early '70's, the company I
worked for had a board that had gold/nickel/rhodium plating. The board
was used as part of a rotary switch assembly and the contacts of the
switch were actually flush with the laminate. The fab house is still in
business but I don't know if they still do this type of plating. The
