Hi Paul!
The first time I had to get out the ol' arbor press and "smoosh" some
connectors into some boards, I had the same sort of problem. My problem was
with the first set of tooling I had made. I had spec'd too large of a hole
diameter on the support block that sits beneath the board below the connector.
This allowed the laminate to flex and ultimately fracture the fibers of
fiberglass just around the holes...as soon as I had another support block made
with smaller holes the problem went away...
