For our company (VIKING Components/Class II) exposed nickel or copper on a
DIMM card (or any card for that matter) are not allowed at all.  The exposed
nickel and copper will oxidize and could cause you to loose your electrical
connection (current does not flow through corrosion too well).

If you insist on using you can repair  the exposed area using a plating unit
if you want. As long as you replate it thick enough it does not seem to be a
problem.
