Epson 3000 is very similar to the 1500 except it
has MUCH bigger ink cartridges (we have yet to run
out of one) Will do 'C' size paper, pretty fast
(rated at about 6 or 8 ppm for b/w) and costs about
$1,800 to $1,900 street. ink cartridges are about $50
each (uses 4) Rated resolution is 1400 x 1400 dpi, we
use it at 700x700. We plot a complex 'C' size check plot in
about 10 minutes or so.

I am not impressed with its ability to do color pictures
(except that it can do them in 'C' size). It's not any
better in that regard than my $400 HP 870.
