  We use a HP 750c that uses individual ink cartridges.  We have had a
problem with the humidity being low causing the ink to dry on the surface
during long periods of no use. We don't always plot color so it is usually
one of the color carts.  We take the cart and dab the end with a water
soaked rag.  This will remove the ink film.  Once we started doing this, we
haven't had any problem using all the ink in the cartridge.
