I am looking for information relating to pcb designs incorporating via
holes with a drilled diameter of .006 or less. About 2 months ago the
company I work for purchased an Ultra Violet laser drilling system. They
also invested a considerable amount of time (and money) in upgrading our
plating techniques to plate a hole of this diameter.
Is this overkill for a technology that could become a passing fancy? Or are
they trying to keep in step with an ever changing pcb industry? Any info or
comments are welcome.
