Just mill the part of the edge which has to be plated as a slit
together with the drills, then plate it together with the drills an
process the whole board, at least mill the remainig, not
plated edge.
With this method I use to form plated slits for soldering
EMC-shielding covers etc. Should work for a real PWB edge, too.
