HOWZITGOIN?

At last count, I received 35 responses to my e-mail regarding:

        ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER WORK-AROUND!

I purposely did NOT mention which CAD system I am using because
I don't really think it matters. The need for work-arounds does
not appear to be "vendor-specific" and most likely isn't limited
to just PCB Design. My guess is that if you are using a computer
to do anything at all, you are probably using work-arounds.

I could get on a soap box and deliver a speech about why I think
things are this way and what could be done to change it, but
I'll spare you. Thank me. You're welcome.

I have been in the PC Board business for 31 years and have used
CAD software for the last 19. As an end user, I have had to use
work-arounds on every CAD package I've used. I have also worked
as an application engineer for Cadnetix and Mentor and guess
what - I had to use work-arounds to do demos, benchmarks and
customer support!

It was not my intention to bash any specific CAD vendor, but
rather to merely put my own frustrations into perspective. And
thanks to all of you, I now know we are all in the same boat.

The world is still turning, I'm breathing easier, and I'll put
in 10 hours of O.T. this week. Isn't life wonderful?

Now back to reality...

I do not need a home page on the Internet to list my gripes
about any CAD vendor or their software. My job description is to
"Use whatever CAD tools my company buys". However, I would be
willing to share my work-arounds with anyone who wants them
(within reason of course - you're not my competitor are you?).
So just post a request to this forum for what you need. If I
don't have the answer, I'm sure someone else will.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to shut up & get back to work.
