Keep the palladium

Some of us need to solder to leads that do not have a tin-lead coatings and it
is much better to solder to palladium plated leads than to have to go to
strippiing and recoating the leads with another solder. As some of you have
noticed it is not always possible to replace enough of the tin/lead solder by
recoating on the leads by double dipping or turbulent retinners. As you have
perhaps already noted as little as 2% lead in a tin solder joint makes it a
mush that may melt in the low 180 deg C. Therefore, you may have to go to a
chemical stripping supplier or set up your own at a great expense. Also, the
no-lead tin solders do not exhibt same appearance that Sn 63 does.
