I've used both at various employers.

Make sure the fluxer is reciprocating to prevent shadowing and ensure even
coverage across the panel.

The original ultrasonic designs did not provide sufficient fluid velocity
for fluxing up plated through holes, where top side fillets looked fine on
atomized fluxers (air and airless). The newer ultrasonics perform much
better.

The 75% reduction is real if the operator's hands can be kept off the
controls, and the correct fluxer is chosen. It is a learning experience to
train operators that raising flux flow beyond the minimum does not impact
yield. Excess flux molecules may not even contact the metalization.

Hi everyone: I need some help on Automatic Fluxers. We are thinking about
installing them on our 3 Electrovert machines.
1- What are the Pros and Cons of Ulrasonic Fluxers?
2- What are the Pros and Cons of Pressure Fluxers?
3- Is it true you can save up to 75% of the cost of Flux and Thinner by
using
these fluxers? Manufacturers claim.
4- We have openings in our boards, does this pose a problem?
Any other information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
Karl J
