The symposium will provide the latest trends in the use of different solder
finishes and the alternatives to tin/lead as a Solderable finishes on
printed boards. The event will also look at the potential effect on
reliability and cost. There are many alternatives such as copper, gold,
silver and tin but what are the advantages and disadvantages of each
choice.

If you want to see the benefits on changing finishes and solve any process
problems you have then this is the event to attend, what can you loose. Its
also the opportunity to have a tour around a modern PCB manufacturing
facility during the evening event.

The SMART Group will also give two video tapes on "An introduction to
alternative solder finishes" for the best two questions of the evening
regarding solderable finishes.

Also during the symposium there will be a preview of  the new "Printed
Circuit Board Defect Guide" CD ROM produced by Bob Willis.
