Hi,

The L you describe with a line through it, is just the "pound" sign, unit
of currency here in the U.K. Sounds like a mix up in the character set
translation on posting to the forum.

VAT, is the value added tax, currently at 17.5% of the value. However, as
an overseas buyer, I think this is probably discounted. At the very least
it will be re-claimable.
