     Dear Fellow TechNetters:

Is the current trend to model component land patterns from the center
of the part or from pin/pad 1? Whichever is the answer, what is the
justification for doing it that way? We are embarking on a project to
automate conversion of PADS board layout to a 3-D Unigraphics assembly
model and the aforementioned issue is a critical one.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
