Plating from small volume baths is definitely possible, but I think that
one thing to watch out for when plating out of a beaker is that the metal
content of the baths can change quickly due to the small volumes of the
solutions. As you plate onto your work piece, metal (as well as other
things) is consumed in the bath, which may change the plating rate,
quality, etc.

Perhaps I have just been unlucky enough to have fussy plating makeups in
the past, but it was a noticeable effect in the some of the chemistries I
have worked with if the parts are large enough and the bath is small
enough.

This may not be an issue depending on the size of the beakers, size of the
work piece, thickness of the plating, etc., but may be something to think
about.
