Hello TechNet.

I have followed the "talk" about microsections, that has been going on
lately.
Very interesting.

Now I would like to turn the discussion over to evaluating the
microsections.

My quistion:
Does anyone know of existing automatic, or semi automatic
evaluation systems. ??

Background:
We are right now involved in a univercity project, using VISION systems to
evaluate the more basic parameters of a microsection.
Things like "hole diameter", "cupper thickness", "insolation distance",
"misregistration of innerlayeres" and so forth.
We realise, that it won't be realistic to automate a lot of the more qualitative
evaluations, (voids, cracks in cupper, delamination, smear and so forth)
but our idea is to automate what can be automated.
We realise, that a pair of eyes, is very hard to replace, when it comes to
the more complex evaluations.
But we are calculating with a reduction of the "man-time" needed to
evaluate microsections.

Looking foreward to here some comments on this subject.
