The letter which came to our test lab with MIL-PRF-55110F
stated that it was inactive for new design as of 1/1/98.

HOWEVER, we are qualifying board shops to MIL-PRF-55110F.
I called DSCC to ask what was up and was told that "we didn't
exactly mean 'inactive for new designs' in the typical way. We
only meant that we, the gov, can not force anyone to use it.

SO MIL-PRF-55110F can be used for board specifications.

We do not recommend anyone use 55110F because of the numerous
errors and ommisions in the document. I have sent 5 pages of
corrections to the document to DSCC and they are reviewing them
and figure on having an amendment out by the END OF THE YEAR.
In the mean time, it would be a real struggle to try and use the
document - not to mention - barrel crack criteria has been left out
and DWV is now done with no exposure to Moisture.

We strongly recommend 6011/6012 and have been advised that
the NAVY is doing just that on all current contracts.

I do not know what other services are doing.

Hope this helps
