Here I believe you are correct.  The maintenance tech and
supervisor probably do not work in the same group and hence
have different goals.

Here I agree with Ms. Amerson.  Professional women don't
like to be placated.  If one thinks a female co-worker is wrong,
one should tell her so in a professional manner.  "I think you
are wrong because...," is a good start.  I, for one, will listen
to reason.  There is no reason why a man can't argue a point
with a woman if he refrains from profanity and insults, and still
maintain proper decorum.

I resent your attitude towards women.

Why is it whenever a woman criticizes a sexist attitude,
her sense of humor is questioned?

a reasonable response.  Some explanation and rational for
your thinking would make the response even more useful.
