Matthew,

Sometimes a sense of humor is not the best way to handle a situation.
I enjoy a good laugh as well as the next but get my feathers ruffled
when treated differently than a male counterpart. Arguments at work
between any two people are unprofessional. You never battle it out
with a boss - you will always lose, one way or another. You may win
the fight, but you will probably lose the war. There is a chain of
command to be followed when disagreeing with the boss.

And as I said, I really have no idea whether the tech was right and
his supervisor was wrong. That's not my area of study. I just
thought that suggesting that Mr. Chee offer his boss roses was not
the best solution. It's tough enough being a woman in a male
dominatd field (I can see my other female TechNeter's nodding their
heads) without some "joker" talking down to me. Oh dear, I guess
that makes me sound like some Womens' Lib-type, doesn't it? If so,
so be it. All I want is the respect you give any other co-worker.
Nothing less, nothing more.

Now I'll step down off of my soap box. As always, these are my
personal viewpoints and may not be shared by my employer.
