Bob, What are you trying to achieve with the etch? If you are just trying
to condition the surface for subsequent bonding, you can use a chemical etch
-- I just contacted Dupont on this subject yesterday & received an article
describing a caustic etch consisting of KOH in an ethanol/water solution.
This was used to prepare the Kapton for bonding in flexcircuits. You can
either call Dupont for the recipe or send me your fax number and I'll send
it to you.
