I have seen the same poor results in the past on paste height measuring
equipment. I would like to throw out a question again --

Has anyone performed a gage R&R (reproducibility and repeatability) study on
this type of equipment with acceptable results?

  Hi everyone.
My two cents worth on LSM. In a project, I found its repeatability
was poor.
