When anyone sees a notice regarding a potential computer virus, BEFORE EVER
FORWARDING IT ON, the first place to check is with your own companies computer
management group.

The next thing to do islook is the US Department of Energy that maintains up to date
and historical information on viruses and hoaxes. At
http://ciac.llnl.gov/ciac/CIACHoaxes.html#joincrew you will see that this is a hoax.

At http://kumite.com/myths/ you will see a large side bar about this hoax is
surfacing again.

At http://www.mcafee.com/support/hoax/join.asp (McAfee, publisher of one of the
better anti-virus packages) you will see that this is a hoax.

Most everyone's eyes open wide when they hear about a virus, and emotion sometimes
overtakes logic. Be very cautious about spreading this kind of word. Think about the
costs in connect time and labor associated with this one message posting and two
responses seen so far that have now caused nearly 5,000 unnecessary messages to be
sent around the world.
