I am at my wits end with my U.S.Robotics 33.6 Internal WinModem. I
continue to get a message when attempting to run diagnosis from the
"System" Program Group that reads "Unable to open Port". Windows 95 will
simply not recognize the modem. I have reloaded Windows 95 as well as
Winmodem, to no avail. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling
Winmodem and even edited out the program from REGEDIT in the uninstall/
reinstall effort. The frustrating part is that it USED TO WORK!! Has
anyone had similar problems with their Winmodem? I also went through the
suggestions given by USR tech support to no avail. Is this just a piece
of garbage that I should simply count my losses on and replace? Any
feedback shall be appreciated.
