I can't answer Mr. Chee's question but I can you that women don't
like being "placated". She is his supervisor, regardless of either
person's gender. Presenting her with a rose does not help. It is
very unprofessional. Would the tech do the same if his supervisor
was a male? It's best to forget about gender and try to keep in mind
that a supervisor is a supervisor. Period. And it's NEVER a good
idea to go behind the boss' back and do something contrary to their
instructions without first notifying them. Unless you don't need a
steady paycheck.
