Regarding the debate of AC/DC and SIR, there was some work being done a few
years ago by Ford using an AC-based SIR test system, rather than the classical
DC based systems. The person doing the research was Dr. James Anderson. It
was in relation to some of the NCMS work that was proposed for materials
compatibility testing. Unfortunately, I was not involved in that work, which
was 6-7 years ago now, so I don't know where it ended up. Dr. John Sohn,
Lucent (or whoever owns them now), was more closely tied to that program and
may have a better response.

For myself, I always thought that AC and impedance testing would have some
interesting results relative to DC and resistance testing. Yet another
research project for the day I learn to clone myself and make 4-5 copies of
me......
