We use both acrylic and silicone conformal coatings on different
products. From all of the testing we have done, the silicone performs
much better for corrosion resistance and preventing dendritic growth.

First of all, I would ask the question "Why corrosion after rework only?
Could
it be the flux residue and not moisture? Anyway, I would recommend an
acrylic
conformal coating. It is sprayed on (comes in aerosol cans for low
volume
production), heat cured, and can easily be removed with most solvents.

We are using a product from Miller-Stephenson, Danbury, CT, P/N
MS-475N.

I'm working for a big repair lab of cellular phones. For a long time we
experience returning of many cellular phones due to corrosion, specially
after repairing.
I thought about using a conformal coating to protect the fresh solder
from humidity and moisture.
Does anyone has got an experience in this kind of work and could
recommend easily removable coating (we do not seek solvent
protection),
the application method and curing mode (since there are expected many
shaded points, UV or any radiation curing does not seem feasible).

Thanks
