I have just been asked a question about conformal coatings on printed
circuit
boards
and I can remember this question arising on this forum some time in the
past.
I would again like to bring this subject up to try and find out some of the
following answers.
The board I wish to apply this coating to is to be used in a high humidity
environment

(I) What type of conformal coatings are available ?.

==> Silicone can offer protection to some extent. Parylene may be the best
protection against humidity.

(ii) How easy is it to apply?.

==> Parylene requires a special vacuum equipment. SCS has some.

(iii)  What will it cost?.

==> From 30K$ to whatever you want to spend.

(iv)  Is it possible to remove after application for rework etc?.

==> Not an easy job. Mechanical removal.
