My $0.02.  Go back to your FET supplier and have them fix the problem.
Or get another supplier.  The parts should not have this condition.  If I
had to keep my production line going I might rework some parts. Otherwise
any time we would spend on this sort of effort just eats into profits.
Besides, some FETs can be very sensitive to damage from ESD and all the
extra handling to fix this problem is only asking for more trouble.  -Gregg
