Gary,
Since I do high volumes of B-24 and B-36 testing, I use connectors vs.
Hardwiring. The connector I use is an AMP part number 1-111212-1. It is an
IDC connector, but I solder to the contacts and use larger diameter wires. My
studies show about a 0.25 - 0.33 decade loss vs. hard wiring using these
connectors. The connectors run about $12-$14 each and are about a 6-8 week
lead time item. I have some in stock if Charles is desperate. Since the B-24
and the B-36 have the same contact finger layout, the same connector can be
used for either board.
I have a few ideas on designing connectors specifically for SIR testing. Any
TechNet people interested in working with me on a new connector design?
Doug Pauls
