Just a quick note of thanks to all the participants on TechNet for
continuing flow of valuable dialogue. Special thanks to those consultants
who have been so good about sharing the invaluable experiences of their long
distinguished careers. Werner Engelmaier, Phil Hinton, Ralph Hersey, Bob
Willis and all the many others. I trust that we as a community will not
hesitate to use or recommend their services to others in the future when the
need arises as a means of thanks for the benefit they continue to provide us
all.
A Happy and Proserous New Year To All!

I'm not sure where you are coming from here....
I personally feel that while these consultants are quite helpful, the worry
is that they DO NOT DO THE JOB.
There is no substitute for the opinions of ENGINEERS WHO DO THE REAL WORK IN
MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENTS.
There are a number of people on this network who are participating, and
their input is valuable, but it must be remembered that they may be people
who sit in offices and never solve problems or design in solutions on the
shop floor or work with real products. I'm not just talking about
Consultants here, for example, what can happen is that the Quality Dept. in
a company can tap into this service as a source of knowledge to gain the one
up on the Engineering Dept. within a company. I know of companies where the
Quality Manager will ask the questions on this mail list while the Engineers
will work away to find a solution by other means.
Thanks
