I am right now in a reliability test on hybrids used in a space
application. During the first inspection I saw that the pins leaving the
package are sealed with two different materials:

In the holes of the package a material which has a grainy appearance like
pressed sand

On top of this is clear glass

Can somebody provide me some know-how concerning the materials used in such
hybrids?
