Steven,
If you can get a Dremel tool close enough to the tabs, there is a cut
off wheel that is available. It is about an inch and a half in diameter and
wafer thin. It will cut the tabs. If you should find that cutting through
all those tabs is too time consuming or if you are unable to get close enough
to the tabs, the wheel can be used for scoring. If you choose to score the
tabs, be sure to go deep enough to provide an easy, clean break. The glass
fibers in the board do not stretch or bend. In addition to the obvious
concern for excessive flexing of an assembled board, nearby holes that are
directly in-line with the tabs can be damaged internally if you do not score
the tabs deep enough.
You could also check with your board supplier. They may have a clever
mechanical person in their Drilling or Routing Department that can fixture
around the components.
