        Aha!  One of my pet peeves.

        Mold flash does not seem to appear in any of the major
        specs, and in fact is not obvious even in most vendor
        data sheets.

        Buried in the footnotes of those data sheets, one often
        finds that seven mils (.007") of flash can appear, beyond
        the maximum overall length given.  So when we build symbols
        for ICs with leads on two sides, we add these values into
        the overall length calculations.

        (Objects in specification are larger than they appear)
