       The formulas I wrote were for the special case of a
'right' cylinder,  where the two circular ends are parallel to
one another and perpendicular to the center line between
their centers (picture an unopened, undeformed tin can).
There are handbooks that can provide other special case
formulae for irregular cylinders.  If you don't have a 'right'
cylinder, describe what type of cylinder from which you want
the area or volume.
