Phil,

We have found that in general, the best labels inks for surviving submergence in hydrocarbon based strippers, cleaners or coatings, are epoxy based. Having said that, we normally only ever see problems with stripping due to the longer exposure times. With aqueous cleaning, most inks are fine if they are hydrocarbon based and water based inks can perform well in hydrocarbons (obvious really!?).

Our process involve a glycolether and saponifier based section and polished water rinses. We process thousands of different assemblies (and therefore components) for customers and problems are rare. Most of our customers who have had problems have switched to self printed epoxy labels.

Best regards
Alan Brewin and Graham Naisbitt
