 Steve,

   Scoring ML is O.K. and you have already received the good
  advises. Use tool to assist in separating the boards.
  We sometimes add a hole ~ 1.0 mm at the junction of the
  scores.
  However.. be very careful with you layout. some component
  like ceramic capacitors are extreeeeemely sensitive
  and tend to crack when preasure is applied even
  when boards are separated by machine.
  Try to locate them as far as possible from the score line
  and avoid placing capacitors perpendicular to score line.
